Mark Mayambela believes a top 8 position will give Chilli fans bragging rights.

Chippa United travel to the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium to face Polokwane City in their last league match of the season.

Chippa are in 8th position with 36 points after 29 games, and a win will guarantee them a place in the MTN8 next season.

Mark Mayambela, nicknamed, “Professor” is aware of the importance of the encounter; “It is a very important game, a must win for us. We have a great opportunity to finish in the top 8 position.

“It will be good for the Football Club in its entirety. It will show progress for the Club.

“It will also give our supporters something to brag about while also giving them something to look forward to early next season,” said the Khayelitsha-born dribbling wizard.

“We have a team capable to win in Polokwane. It is a matter of putting in the work and focusing.

“Polokwane City won’t be easy at home. They have given us problems in the past and will be motivated on Saturday.

Mayambela who celebrated a decade in the PSL in February has warned his teammates against complacency; “We cannot think the season is over or that  it will be a walk in the park.

“The signs have been encouraging at training though and everyone is aware of the importance of us qualifying for top 8,” he said.

Mayambela missed the last encounter against SuperSport United at Sisa Dukashe as he was down with flu, but is expected to be back in the reckoning this weekend.

“It’s been one of my great seasons but interrupted a lot by injuries. I have enjoyed great support from Management, Technical Team and the players,” said Mark who has also been given a responsibility to captain the team on numerous occasions in the absence of regular captain, James Okwoasa.

Kick-off for the game at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium is at 15h00.
