The PSL and ABSA launched the 2017/18 season on Monday evening and announced a campaign for the upcoming season titled ‘Woza Nazo’ – the new Absa Premiership tag line. The two parties have renewed their partnership signing a new five-year.
The Port Elizabeth launch was held at Isango Gate with gorgeous, Supersport Presenter, Lindiwe Dube as programme director.
The launch was attended by local executives from ABSA, notably, Tshiwela Mtlantla the Provincial Managing Executive for Eastern and Southern Cape (Retail and Business Banking).
Chippa United Operations Manager, Nombasa Zini and Head of Communications, Marketing, Luthando Zibeko and stopper, Daniel Akpeyi were in attendance.
Chippa United visit Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, 19 August to kick start what promises to be a grueling Absa Premiership campaign.
Akpeyi told chippautdfc.co.za at the event that he and his teammates are excited about the season ahead.
The Port Elizabeth based side will be looking to finish higher up on the Absa Premiership log table, after finishing in a disappointing 13th position last term.
The side has made their intentions clear by announcing the signing of experienced players such as Kurt “Pepper” Lentjies and Brighton Mhlongo, while Mark “Professor” Mayambela, James “The Wall” Okwuosa have returned to the side.
Andile Mbenyane, Paseka “Computer “Mako, Menzi “Slyzer Tsotsi” Masuku, Rhulani “Rhu” Manzini and Capitan, Diamond “Diamond & Dorrings” Thopola remain in the side and are expected to defend the blue and white of Chippa United.
Kickoff for the game on Saturday is at 20h15.
