Head Coach, Teboho Moloi has said that his charges are ready to welcome Golden Arrows when the two sides square up to what promises to be a thrilling encounter at the iconic, Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday, 21 January 2018.
The Port Elizabeth-based side has won one (1) and drawn (1) since the turn of 2018, while the visitors should be high in confidence coming to Port Elizabeth following a win against SuperSport United on Sunday.
Chippa United has been nothing short of impressive in 2018, notching four (4) points out of six (6) after an emphatic win away to AmaZulu, and an inspired comeback to draw against the reigning champions, Bidvest Wits at home.
The Chilli Boys are lying in 8th position on the Absa Premiership table with 23 points after, seventeen games while Abafana Besthende are placed 10th with two points adrift of the Eastern Cape based side.
Arrows needed a late equaliser in Durban during the first round encounter, with Moloi insisting that they are no push overs; “They are a dangerous side, and we know that they will come to Nelson Mandela Bay wanting to cause upset. It is a very difficult game but we are playing at home and losing is not an option.
“We are going all out for maximum points, and if that is not possible we go for minimum. Losing at home is not in our vocabulary,” insisted Moloi.
Moloi added that Arrow’s 10th position is not the true reflection of the side’s potential; “We do not have to look at where they are on the league log table. This does not reflect their true potential. We must focus on the game and prepare properly. The two games against Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United are the two of the most difficult games for us this season and they will give us an idea where we will be at the end of the season,”
Tickets for the game are available at Ticket Pro outlets nationwide selling for R40 adults and R20 children under the age of 12. Tickets are also on sale at the Stadium office from 0h30-16h30.
Chilli Boys Supporters Package will be activating at the game while Chippa United replicas will also be on sale at Information Centre through game B & C at Prince Alfred Road.
Gates open at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at 12h30.
