Chippa United MDC side will be looking to impress when they compete in the newly launched tournament, Multichoice Diski Challenge to kick off on the 7th April 2018.

The tournament was announced by Chairman of the Premier Soccer League, Irvin Khoza on Monday, 5 March 2018 in Johannesburg.

Chippa United finished on 13th position in the MDC League and will be looking to use the tournament to improve.

Head of Development Glen Minnie told chippautdfc.co.za on Tuesday; “We welcome the opportunity to participate in the newly launched tournament and we must once again send a word of gratitude to both the Premier League and Multichoice for their commitment in the development of football in the country.

“The tournament extends our program which is good for the players. We will be looking at doing well and continue to improve. We are delighted with the progress we have made in the development and this now can be reflected with the number of players promoted to the first team.

“The tournament gives us an opportunity to keep the lads active and play competitive football. We are not entirely happy to have finished in 13th position in the MDC because we know the potential of the lads but we will be giving our all in the tournament and leave a lasting impression,” added Minnie.
