Chippa United Development staff and players paid a glowing tribute to Multichoice and PSL following a successful MDC workshop held at The Paxton Hotel in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, 25 February afternoon.

The workshop conducted by Multichoice and Absa was attended by the entire MDC Team and development staff.

The session focused on three areas; financial planning, anti-doping education and social media training.

Centreback, Mzikayise Williams (21) said after workshop, the session will go a long way in helping young players differentiate between what is a “want” and what is a “need”.

“Such sessions will go a long way in shaping our lives both as aspiring footballers,” said the young lad that was attending his third workshop with Multichoice.

“There is a clear difference on things that you want and you need more especially when making financial decisions,” added the New Brighton born youngster.

Team Manager of the MDC Team, Sakhumzi Nkonki said it is important for the players to educated and take interest even on medicine prescribed by medical practitioners.

“Pay attention always on what you taking to your body as an aspiring professional. That is key.

“It is equally important to always to always pay attention to what you say in the social media space. I can say that not only players but also staff is benefiting from such workshops,” added Nkonki.

Head of Development, Glen Minnie concurred paying tribute to both the League and Multichoice for such a wonderful initiative.

“Development off the field is as important as development on the pitch and this can only benefit the development of football in South Africa.

“We can never thank enough both the League and Multichoice for bringing about an initiative Clubs develop not only footballers but responsible citizens,”
