Chippa United Executive Chairman , Siviwe Mpengesi announced the signing of former AmaZulu and Bafana Bafana defender, Marc Van Heerden (28) on a three year deal.

The signing of the left back is seen as an attempt to close the void left by Nkosinathi Mthiyane who has joined Orlando Pirates.

“His experience is going to help strengthen our defense. Van Heerden brings a lot of experience and quality to the side. We are delighted to welcome him to the Chippa United Family,” said Mpengesi.

Van Heerden who joined AmaZulu FC back in 2008 from AmaTuks joined his new teammates for preseason camp in KwaZulu/Natal and has been handed the number 4 jersey vacated by Erick Chipeta.
