Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns played to a goalless draw in the MTN8 semifinal first-leg game played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon.

Chippa goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was forced into a save ten minutes later when he gathered Billiat’s shot from the left as Sundowns continued to dominate possession.
Sibusiso Vilakazi should have broken the deadlock for Sundowns five minutes before halftime, but his first touch was poor and Akpeyi snatched the ball away from him.
Second-half substitute Yannick Zakri made an immediate impact in the 56th minute. The Sundowns winger cut inside from the left and his shot narrowly missed the target.
In the 75th minute, Chippa winger Thembinkosi Lorch cut inside from the left and pulled the trigger, but Sundowns keeper Denis Onyango parried the ball away.
Although, Chippa and Sundowns launched late attacks in the late stages of the Cup encounter, they were unable to find the winning goal and the match ended in a goalless draw.
