Nelson Mandela Bay will be a hive of activity of Tuesaday, 20 September 2016 when Atletico de Madrid delegation visits Chippa United.

This was revealed by Chippa United Executive Chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi on Sunday afternoon.

“We are excited to welcome the Spanish giants to our shores,” said a visible elated Mpengesi.

“Together with Department of Sports in the Province and the Nelson Mabdela Bay Municipality we are looking forward to welcoming the delegation from Atletico.

“Atletico de  Madrid is one of the biggest teams in European football, and the work of coach Diego Simeone is a clear demonstration of how the Club has developed in the past six years or so.

“They wish to build an Academy in the Eastern Cape and we have been approached to get involved.

“We will also discuss with them the possibility of working together to enhance our development structures.

“We would like to acknowledge the work of the ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Spain for the role he played in initiating the relationship,” added Mpengesi.
