Pentjie Zulu has told chippautdfc.co.za that he still believes Chippa United offers him an opportunity to grow and develop both as a player and a person.
The Chippa United left-back joined the Club during the January transfer window period, but his progress was slowed by disciplinary issues.
On-form Paseka Mako has filled the left-back position since the departure of Marc Van Heerden, and Zulu is aware that he has a lot work ahead of himto win starting berth in the team.
“I had few challenges which were addressed by Management. I apologised to everyone in the team, and this is now all behind us. I am working hard fighting for my place in the team.
“I never had any doubts from the day I arrived here, that Chippa United Football Club offers me an opportunity to grow not only as a player but a responsible citizen, especially for what the club represents to the people in the province,” said the former Bidvest Wits and Jomo Cosmos player.
Zulu (26) said he is determined to achieve something with the team; “I want to win silverware with the team and with one cup to go before the end of the season we want to see how far we can go.
“There is a lot to play for, and for us at this point in time we are focusing on our next game, Cape Town City.
“We have most of the players back in training following few injury concerns. The fight for places in the team is fierce as ever. Personally, I want to use the FIFA break as an opportunity to knuckle down.
Zulu has made a single appearance in the colours of Chippa United in his debut against Mamelodi Sundowns at Sisa Dukashe Stadium back in February.
“We are all united. We all relate well and support one another. The vibe in the team is good. We need to stick together fight for each other for the next couple weeks as we aim to climb the league table and progress in the Nedbank Cup,”
Meanwhile Chippa United’s visit Cape Town City has been moved from the original date of Saturday, 01 April to Monday, 03 April, kick-off for the game is now at 19h30.
