Dan “Dance” Malesela has leaped to the defense of under fire defender, Paseka Mako following a below par performance away in Cape Town on Monday.

Mako has impressed in his first season in the Premier League making 18 appearances for Chippa United.

He looks certain to retain his place despite his performance against Cape Town City, where he struggled against the pace and trickery of Bongolethu Jayiya.

“No player becomes a bad player after just one game,” said Malesela responding to a question about Mako’s performance against City.

“I am not the one to judge a player after just one performance. He (Paseka) had done very well for us until the Cape Town City game.

“He has come up against some of the best wingers in the league, and not once he was shaken.

“It was not his day on Monday, and that happens in football,” said Malesela of the former Cape Town All Stars winger.

Mako who turned 23 on 1st April has been a shining light in what has been a topsy turvy season for the Chilli Boys.

Affectionately known as “Ben 10” to chippautdfc.co.za, Mako will be looking to put his performance on Monday behind him, and build up on his brilliant performances this season.

Mako won the Man of the Match award for his splendid display against Witbank Spurs in the last 32 last month.
