Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela has heaped praise on the players following a comprehensive 4-1 drubbing of Platinum Stars at a packed Isaac Wolfson Stadium on Wednesday, 27 April 2016.

The win moved Chilliboys to seventh place in the Absa Premiership table with 37 points from 26 matches. Substitute, Lerato Manzini was the hero on the day banging a hat-trick after Andile Mbenyane had given the Port Elizabeth based outfit a lead inside ten minutes.

Malesela rewarded with the three-year contract last month told chippautdfc.com after the game; “I am satisfied with the performance and the result. There are of course areas of concern but overall credit to the lads for the win.

“We played against a difficult team in Platinum Stars. They play more like us and they troubled us in some moments. It helped that we trained here (Isaac Wolfson Stadium) during the week prior to the game and that when they won the toss and chose to play against the wind.

“I thought overall we did well to keep the possession of the ball and we created lot of chances. We were more clinical in the second half and it could have been more. We were solid at the back. If you do not concede you cannot lose a football game.

“We have to build on this and for me I have already started thinking about the next game in Johannesburg against Bidvest Wits.

Bidvest Wits are second on the Absa Premiership table and their 2-0 win over SuperSport United on Tuesday, 26 April took them only 3 points adrift of log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns who extended the gap to four points following a goalless draw against Ajax Cape Town.

“I had an opportunity to see their game against SuperSport United on Tuesday. They are competitive and their confidence will be up playing in front of their home crowd.

“What is important for us is to focus on our game. We have to continue doing what is right and keep the momentum. The game against Platinum Stars is over and now the focus on the next one,” added Malesela.

Kickoff for the game at Bidvest Stadium is at 18h30.
