Dan Malesela has revealed that the team has had to change priorities following the slump during the months of October and November where the team dropped a lot of points.

The Chilli Boys mentor was speaking to chippautdfc.co.za following an emphatic win against Highlands Park on Saturday, 17 December 2016 at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane.

Forwards Katlego ‘Mahoota’ Mashego and Lerato ‘Zlatan’ Manzini scored in each half to secure an important win for Chippa United.

Malesela was understandably pleased after the proceedings; “I am delighted for the lads and even more pleased that we won and kept a clean sheet after a long time,”

“We were playing at home and the target was to get three points, and we will employ the same approach on Wednesday (against Ajax). We are always looking at putting an offensive team.

Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela as he is affectionately known in football circles, insists that the team can still do better than last season.

“Yes, we believe we can still do better, but now we have had to change our approach due to the recent slump.

“The priority now is to move from where we are (no. 10 on the league table) . We are not thinking about chasing league honors or top 8. We are taking it step by step,” added Malesela.

Chippa United travel to Cape Town on Wednesday, 21 December for a date with Ajax Cape Town.
