The game follows a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Cape Town City, and Malesela admitted Cup game comes as a “relief”.

“I see the cup game as a relief from the league where we have not been doing well.

“It is an opportunity for us to correct a few shortcomings and pick up confidence,” said Malesela addressing the media at Nelson Mandela Stadium on Wednesday.

“We want to give a real go in the Nedbank Cup. I have said in the past that this specific Cup is close to my heart, and we will do all we can to go far as possible.

Malesela is concerned about the number of injured players going to the second round this coming Saturday.

“We have (Xolani) Mdaki, (Mpho) Mvelase, Thopola (Diamond) out due to injury and Manzini(Lerato) who is suspended.  This is a concern for us,  but it is an opportunity for other players to raise their hands.

“We have options upfront, it is at the back where we are bit affected,” continued Malesela reveling the Club is waiting for results of a scan on Diamond Thopola who came from Bafana Bafana with an injury.

Malesela further revealed Thopola is unlikely to play a part in the next couple of pending the results.

“We have to look at other options for Saturday, and try to come up with solutions.

“We have a few days before the game on Saturday,  come 3pm we shouldbe ready for what comes our way,” added Malesela.
