Mpumalanga Black Aces opened the 2015/16 MultiChoice Diski Challenge with a 1-0 win over Chippa United at Makhulong Stadium on Saturday morning.

Juda Moseamedi got the goal on 22 minutes for AmaZayoni, who also currently top the Absa Premiership standings.

Chippa started brightly, as Sinoxolo Mdashe has an effort cleared off the line by Nkululeko Tshangane as early as the third minute.

Aces, though, responded with interest when Moseamedi pounced in the box after the Chilli Boys failed to clear a corner.

AmaZayoni sat back in the second stanza, and nearly paid the price in the latter stages. However, defender Bryan Perumal made two goal-line clearances in quick succession to help his team claim maximum points.

In other Reserve League action today, Platinum Stars host Maritzburg United, Mamelodi Sundowns entertain Golden Arrows, while Orlando Pirates will take on defending champions University of Pretoria in the last fixture, starting at 15h00.

AmaTuks won the inaugural Diski Challenge last season by beating Sundowns 2-1 on penalties in the Final in February.
