Chief Operations Officer, Lukhanyo Mzinzi has declared Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium ready to host Baroka FC on Tuesday, 07 February 2017.
The game is the first of the year following Christmas break and Africa Cup of Nations with the final being played on Sunday, 05 February 2017.
Kick-off is at 19h30.
“The vibe ahead of the year opener against Baroka has been electrifying people in the Nelson Mandela Metro and beyond can’t wait to watch their favourite team again. There is a lot of interest for the game on Tuesday and from the Club’s point of view it’s all systems go,” said a visibly elated Mzinzi after the Nedbank Draw in Johannesburg on Thursday evening.
Mzinzi believes that the Club has made good signings during the transfer window; “We have no doubt the players we have brought to the Club are going to help us move forward. We always endeavour to support the Technical team in line with our objectives as the Club and we are delighted with the business we have made this transfer window.
Mzinzi added that the newly opened Chippa United Store has added another dimension to the Club and has paid tribute to the fans that have flocked The Boardwalk to purchase Chippa United merchandise.
“The store has brought lot of excitement not only from our supporters but the people of the Metro, and tourists. We will continue to seek for opportunities as the Club to grow in other spheres of business in line with our growth strategy,” added Mzinzi.
