Head Coach, Teboho Moloi has revealed that his charges are ready to go to war when they face ABC Motsepe outfit, Phiva Young Stars at Kabokweni Stadium in Mpumalanga on Saturday, 10 February 2018.
Chippa United are looking to go further than they did last term in this competition when they lost to Supersport United in the semi-finals.
“The mood in the camp is good. Focused. The players want to do better than they did last season.
“They are aware of the challenge ahead and incentives that come with this competition.
“They know what is expected of them, to give a disciplined and a professional performance come Saturday,” said Moloi.
Moloi dismissed the talk of a “walkover” against the Kabokweni based side, “We are faced with a difficult game on Saturday. There are no small teams in this competition, and we know that they will want to cause an upset.
“They are coming up against players they see week in, week out and they will be motivated.
Moloi said it was important to strike a balance between the cup and league games.
Chippa United played a 3-all draw against Platinum Stars last Sunday and travel to Polokwane next week.
“Phiva Young Stars first! It is important that we step up starting on Saturday, because after this it does not get any easier against Baroka FC and then Orlando Pirates,” said Moloi hinting on resting a few players, to manage them and keep them rejuvinated.
KickKoff for the game is at 15h30.
