Midfielder Philane Shange is out for three months following a successful operation on his broken left leg.

Shange, who joined the Chilli Boys during the off-season earlier this year sustained the injury in the League game against Platinum Stars last month.

He is currently at home in KwaZulu-Natal to follow a rehabilitation programme that will speed up the process of his recovery.

Club COO Lukhanyo Mzinzi has expressed doubt regarding  Shange’s recovery before the end of the year.  “I highly doubt that Philane will play again this year.  We have been advised that he may be out for three months”.

“He was tackled on his lower left leg.  The operation was a success and he is currently undergoing rehab in KZN.”

The Chilli Boys’ home league game against SuperSport United that was scheduled for this Saturday, 17 October  has been postponed to Tuesday, October 27.  They will take on is Maritzburg United away on Wednesday, October 21.  Shange visited the team while they were on camp in Durban ahead of the fixture.  He seems to be in good spirits, and wished his team mates well.

Chippa, who are unbeaten at home thus far, will be without the services of Joseph Molangoane and Thamsanqa Sangweni due to suspension.
