Head Coach, Vadeslav Heric has described the Absa Premiership encounter against SuperSport United on Saturday, 28 April as “do or die” for the Chilli Boys as they look to consolidate their position inside the top 8.
Chippa United are coming back from a draw away in Bloemfontein on Tuesday while, SuperSport United are on a high following a 3-2 win against Free State Stars.
The MTN8 Champions find themselves in an unfamiliar 14th position on the log, but Heric warned that his charges do not to underestimate their opponents.
“They showed their quality when they beat Free State Stars. They showed character and fought to the end. We should not be fooled by their position on the log. This is a cup final, a do or die game for us!
“We are taking this game seriously. We need to be professional and do the business on Saturday,” said Heric addressing members of the media in East London on Thursday afternoon.
“We have already dropped four points (against Ajax Cape Town and Bloemfontein Celtics) and we are in a situation where we must win our next game. This is a very tough season, this season 34 points is not enough to survive.
“The mood in the camp is high and the players have been working very hard in training. They have been very professional.
“I would like to see them taking more shots on goals and be aggressive in attack. We keep working on this in training.
“We are playing at home in East London and the crowd will be behind us from first whistle. It is our last home game of the season and it is important to leave the fans with a lasting memory. They have been great for the Club this season and certainly for me when I arrived here. We hope to see them in numbers because that rubs off positively with the players on the pitch,” added Heric.
Tickets for the game are already on sale at TicketPro outlets nationwide including at Engen Garage (KwaJekwa) next to Sisa Dukashe Stadium selling for R40 adults and R20 children under the age of 12.
Chippa United replica will also be on sale at the Stadium selling for R499.
