Head Coach, Teboho Moloi told chippautdfc.co.za that he and his charges are satisfied with the point against Free State Stars.

The Chilli Boys came from a goal down to return to Port Elizabeth with a crucial point during an action-packed encounter played at Goble Park on Wednesday evening.

The Port Elizabeth side are now in 8th position with 15 points after 11 games.

Moloi watched his charges missing chance after chance at a ground Chippa United are yet to register a victory.

“Our motto when we play away is to first protect the point, and if there is an opportunity to do a smash and grab we do that and go back to Port Elizabeth,” he said.

“The players gave it their all to win this game. We created four clear chances before they scored but these things happen in football.

“Today we could not convert our chances and we will go back to the training field to polish our finishing. This evening I am pleased with a point and once again credit to the players,” continued Moloi.

“Tebza Ngwana” as Moloi is known, was delighted his side finally scored from a set play.

James Okwuosa rose the highest to head Menzi Masuku’s corner kick when the game looked to be running away from the Chilli Boys.

“I was happy  that we finally scored in this situation. We have been working a lot on the training field to score from set pieces. It was a well taken corner and I am very happy for James who scored an important goal for us,” he said.

The focus now changes to the clash dubbed as a “David vs Goliath” clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday afternoon.

Moloi expressed his delight following the return of vice captain, Sandile Zuke who replaced Abel Mabaso in the second half.

“It was good to have Zuke back on the pitch. He gave us stability after coming on for Mabaso. He gives us options in the midfield going to Saturday.

“There are no guarantees if he is going to start in the place of Mabaso on Saturday though. Mabaso together with Mdlinzo have done a sterling job in the middle of the park and we will see who raises his hand ahead of Saturday.

“We go back to Port Elizabeth on Thursday afternoon and we will see after regeneration who is available come Saturday,” added Moloi.

Chippa United has been hit with injuries lately with Mark Mayambela, Katlego Mashego, Ayabulela Konqobe, Brighton Mhlongo, Mahlatse Makudubela and captain, Diamond Thopola all missing in action.
