Olympian, Daniel Akpeyi believes Chippa United can only get better, following their impressive start to the 2016/2017 season.

The Chilli Boys have had a great start to their season, winning their opening game against Free State Stars and brushing aside Platinum Stars to proceed to the MTN8 for the first time in the Club’s history.

The victory was a first win in a cup game for the Port Elizabeth-based side, and even though Akpeyi missed the game he has been following the team’s progress during his time att the Olympics in Rio.

“I am happy to the back in Port Elizabeth and can’t wait to start training with my teammates again,” said Akpeyi.

“I watched the repeat of our game against Free State Stars and of course the quarter final against Platinum Stars after arriving in Johannesburg on Friday afternoon.  The progress was evident in our second game and I have no doubt that we can only get better from now on. We have the Technical Team and desire at the Club to do well this season.
