“Chippa United will not underestimate Witbank Spurs”, those were there words of midfielder, Sandile Zuke speaking to the media ahead of the Nedbank Cup last 32 encounter against First Division outfit, Witbank Spurs at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday, 15 March 2017.

The Chilli Boys will be hoping to return to winning ways at the ground where they last registered a win this year.

The Club record in the Nedbank Cup does not make for good reading though if the past two seasons are any thing to go by.

In the past two seasons they have suffered losses against teams from lower divisions, Natal United 2014/2015 season and Baroka FC 2015/2016.

“Teams from the lower leagues double their efforts against Premier league sides so there will be no room for complacency on Wednesday.

“Spurs will not be different and they will come here with an intention to cause an upset, and we must be ready for them,” said the former Kaizer Chiefs and Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder, Sandile Zuke.

“It is an important game and we must do all we can to proceed to the next round,” continued Zuke.

Zuke who made his debut in the Premier Soccer League in 2007, poured cold water on suggestions that Chippa United target big games to perform.

“We want to win every game, that is always our intention. We are going with the same mentality and attitude come Wednesday. We want to proceed to the next round,” added Zuke.

Kickoff is at 19h30.
