Head Coach, Vladeslav Heric was on Monday afternoon introduced formally to the Management and playing staff by the Executive Chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi following his announcement as a new head coach of the Club.

Heric took over the reins from Teboho Moloi who vacated the coaching post on Saturday morning. Heric held the first training session with the Team immediately after the announcement. He took time to speak to chippautdfc.co.za after the session expressing his delight to be back with the Chilli Boys.

Vladeslav Heric was at the helm when Chippa United won back promotion to the Premier League during 2013/2014 season with four games remaining.

Welcoming back to Chippa United, take us through how you ended up here again…

Heric: Thank you for welcome and for the opportunity to chat to you. The Chairman called me following the defeat away in Cape Town. I was ok in Durban but he told me that he felt I could make a contribution following my departure prior to 2014/2015 season.

I came back because I know the people here, I know the players. This is a very good team and I believe that I belong in the Premiership.

You had your first session shortly after you were introduced formally to the Team…

I could not wait to change from suit and tie to my training gear after the Chairman addressed all of us. He said that there are seven games to go and we need to try to get ourselves back in the top 8 and also fight for the Nedbank Cup. The message is clear that for all of us including the players we must fight for the place in the team for next season.

What is your philosophy and what can fans expect from the team?

My football is attacking football and aggressive defending, I never changed my philosophy. I will need to look at the profile of the players we have and I believe this is a strongest squad Chippa United has assembled since the Club inception.

I am willing to work with the Technical Team and everyone at the Club to bring the best out of the players. I will be getting as much information before our next game.

Talking about the next game, high flying Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup…

It is a very strong opponent, difficult game but we believe it is not impossible to beat them and proceed to the next round in the competition. We will try our best to win the game on Saturday.

I am still busy trying to sort out my papers but all the systems are in place to make sure that we prepare well for the game.

Lastly, have you been listening to the Chippa United song, Asiphelelanga and what is your message to the supporters?

(laughing) Yes, yes, I have been listening to the song but I still want someone to help me understand the wording.

My message to the supporters; we are going to die on the field. Give our all. Score goals and play the way the way they want their team to play. Keep possession, dominate opponents and try to win each and every game. We will work hard, give back to them for their loyal support and spending their hard earned money traveling around the country to support the lads.
