Chippa United suffered their heaviest defeat ever when they lost 5-1 to Maritzburg United in the DStv Premiership fixture at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

CHIPPA UNITED SUFFER CRUSHING LOSS

Our boys had dominated the start of proceedings, with Maloisane Mokhele opening the proceedings with his fourth goal of the season.

However, few would have anticipated the huge collapse and defensive blunders as the Chilli Boys conceded two goals before the break.

Maritzburg totally dominated the second half with three unanswered goals as they sealed a bad day in the office for Chippa.

The Pride of Eastern Cape are still in search of their first league victory since 23 January, having gone eight games without a win.

Jerry Msane made his Club debut in defence alongside stand-in captain Isaac Nhlapho.

Absent from the match were the injured trio of captain Andile Mbenyane, Nyiko Mobbie and Thami Sangweni.
