Chippa United captain Augustine Kwem said that the team was in high spirits ahead of their DStv Premiership visit to Lucas Moripe Stadium to play Mamelodi Sundowns.

The match kicks off is 3.30pm with the match being broadcast on SuperSport. Our social media platforms will also carry live updates.

Downs, top the long standings and are yet to be beaten this season.

Our boys (13 points) enter the fray with an opportunity to end the weekend in the top half of the table with a win.

"Obviously, they tend to keep the ball like we do. I believe that we will match them because they also play a possession game like we do," said Chippa skipper Augustine Chidi Kwem.

"It will be tactical but as a team, we are positive for the game. It's motivating seeing team score goals in the last few matches that we've played. The team has been gelling (under coach Dan Malesela)."

Malesela, the team mentor, is also considered a Downs legend having played for them in the mid-1990s.

The Chilli Boys also carries Anthony Laffor, Kurt Lentjies, Nyiko Mobbie and Luvuyo Phewa who turned out for them.

With the team having been on the road for most of January, Kwem also said: "travel has been hectic this month, and this is part of the sacrifice that the team has had to make during this pandemic. It is motivating some great away results."
