Executive Chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi has revealed that the Club and long-serving midfielder, Buyani Sali have parted ways.

Sali joined Chippa United back in 2010, and despite a short stint at Polokwane City during 2013/2014 season, the no. 6 has been a key member of the Chilli Boys.

“The process to renew Sali’s contract started last year, and as the Football Club we did everything possible to keep the player in the Eastern Cape.

“Negotiations have completely  broken down, and he will depart at the end of the season,” revealed Mpengesi.

Mpengesi took time to pay tribute to Sali, and wish him well for the future.

” Chippa United Football Club in its entirety would to express  gratitude to Buyani Sali for the contribution he has made to this Football Club.

” Sali has been a key player since our days at Vodacom League (now ABC Motsepe League) and when the history of this Football Club is written, the name, Buyani Sali will be there.

“We are delighted to have given him a platform to show South Africa what he can do on the pitch.

“We wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” concluded Mpengesi.

Meanwhile, the Club has moved quickly to fill the void left by Sali in the midfield with the signing of midfielders from the First Division; Boikanyo Komane (25) from Royal Eagles and Ntuxeko Nation Ndlovu from Cape Town All Stars.

Exciting forward from Cape All Stars, Lucky Setelele has signed on the dotted line to increase the firepower upfront.
