Club Chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi commented: “This is the year where the Club is celebrating 10 years of existence. We’ve had our trials an tribulations in building this brand that has become the pride of our Eastern Cape province.

“We have shifted our goals. Our strategy now is on enhancing our brand image even further on and off the field of play. We've had our trials and error. I believe that our objectives and goal posts have shifted, and it all starts with the ambitions that we have set when we were designing this kit alongside our technical partners, MonFlair.”

The launch event was also attended by the Eastern Cape Provincial Premier, Oscar Mabuyane, who was presented with a jersey by the Chairman.

“Chippa United are the ambassadors of our province. It gives me great pleasure to wish them the best of luck ahead of the South African domestic football season. While I and the rest of the country will be watching the team from home in order  to observe the current Level 1 Lockdown regulations- we believe that they will play with determination and represent us with pride.” said Premier Mabuyane.

In complimenting the new kit as well as the renewed three-year partnership with the Chilli Boys, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr. Thsonono Buyeye concluded: “Congratulations to the team for having designed these three symbolic jerseys. This week, NMBM was named the second greenest Municipality in the country and we hope that this achievement will also be an inspiration towards success for coach Lehlohonolo Seema and his charges in their campaign.”
