Maselealo Seanego has told that he is over the moon after signing a short-term contract with Chippa United earlier this month.

Affectionately known as “Shakes” in football circles, he is a product of Kaizer Chiefs Development, and had stints with Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows and recently with First Division outfit, Royal Eagles.

“Shakes” has penned a six months deal with an option to renew for a further season.

“It’s awesone to be here, and I am absolutely delighted. I see this as an opportunity to revive my career,” said the 23-year old.

“I trained with Chippa before the start of last season, but the move did not materialize.

“I would like to thank the Chairman, Mr Mpengesi for affording me the opportunity to be a Chilli Boy. I am grateful to Coach Teboho and his Technical Team, and of course the players, for manner  in which they welcomed me to Port Elizabeth.

Seanego signed his first team contract with Orlando Pirates in 2013, but was immediately loaned out to Golden Arrows.

“I am grateful to Pirates, they gave me my first contract, and when I returned to the Club in July last year we mutually agreed to part ways.

“I am now working hard to regain my confidence, and this has been made easy here at Chippa as I am familiar with most the guys.

“I played with (Zitha) Macheke at Chiefs Devo (Development). I was with Menzi (Masuku) and some other guys at Pirates. I knew Paseka Mako as we played against each at school level.

Seanego has featured for junior national teams, and is adamant that the Club is headed towards a right direction.

“We are united towards one goal to do well this season and qualify for CAF competition.

“The vibe in the Team is good and conducive for us to do really well this season and I want to be part of history here. I want to be part of the first generation to win our Chairman and wonderful supporters a trophy.

“We can achieve this with hard work, determination and respect.

“Shakes” can operate both as a leftback and left winger and is aware of the fierce competition in the Team.

“I am working hard in training and supporting the lads at this moment. We are in this together and to succeed we must support one another and when my opportunity comes I will grab with both hands,” concluded Seanego.

Seanego travelled with the team to Johannesburg for the match against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 20h15.
