Head Coach, Dan Malesela insisted that his charges are on the right track despite the loss against Orlando Pirates at home on Tuesday evening.
The Dan “dance” boys came to the game from a 2-1 defeat against PSL rookies Cape Town City, at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, on Saturday afternoon.
The Chilli Boys dominated the game in the middle of the park as projected, but once again failing to convert their chances, which has been the problem for them for the last 5 games.
“Slowly we are getting there, once the players understand each other, things will get better,” said Malesela.
“We also have a challenge, in terms of fixing the little errors at the back which are not necessary at times. We need to regain our confidence and start playing our normal game again. We must improve in defense.
Malesela continued, “A defenders job is simple and it’s a simplest job you will ever get in a football match, because its only to just win and pass the ball, but if you try other things you get messed up but we are training these players we are not going to get impatient,”
The game was a mouthwatering encounter, which left both set of fans happy. The Chilli Boys were once again unlucky not to convert the possession they had on the night into goals.
“What is key for me is to see people entertained although we want results. I do not think there is an individual who left the stadium today, and is not happy with what he saw, and that’s the primary thing for me,” added Malesela.
“There loses are not destroying us they are actually building us, because we are able to identify where we went wrong and find solutions. Today I already have two solutions in my head and we will get it right,” Malesela said addressing the media.
Chippa United will be hoping to turn the corner when they face Maritzburg United, at Harry Gwala Stadium, on 29 November. Kickoff is at 19h30.
