NMB Municipality Executive Mayor meets the Chilli Boys

Chippa United are in good spirits after visits from our key principals from the Nelson Mandela Bay  Municipality ahead of the team's first game at home for the year.

The NMB Executive Mayor, Cllr. Nqaba Bhanqa alongside the MMC of Sports, Helga van Staaden got an opportunity to meet and greet with the team ahead of our fixture against Free State Stars in a Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this Sunday.

"Do always keep in mind that you are representing 1.4 million people at all times. I wish you well in your preparations and ambitions for this year," the Executive Mayor said.

Chilli Boys COO Lukanyo Mzinzi added: "It was an incredible honour to have this visit from the Mayor and the MMC...to also give the team the much needed motivation. We are aware of our incredible responsibilities to our diverse people of NMB and to the Eastern Cape."

We have been twice semifinalists in this competition while Stars, who currently campaign in the GladAfrica Championship, were winners in 2018.

The match will kick off at 3pm with no fans allowed anywhere near the precinct.
