The Chilli boys Punish Maritzburg United
A hat-trick from Bienvenu Eva Nga led Chippa United to their first win in the DStv Premiership after seeing off Maritzburg United 3-1 on Tuesday evening.
Sandile Mthethwa, Augustine Kwem and Eva Nga were Chippa’s notable changes from the loss to Kaizer Chiefs
The Team of Choice broke the deadlock on ten minutes when pressure play through the middle allowed Daylon Claassen ample space in the area before going on to find the bottom-corner.
The Chilli Boys were back level at the midway stage after Eva Nga sent Maritzburg goalkeeper Jethren Barr the wrong way from the penalty spot as Kwem went crashing on the deck.
The Chilli Boys looked to turn the contest around ten minutes from halftime with a substitution in Tumiso Mogakwe, who filled in the space of Kwem.
This home side went ahead four minutes later when Nga won and converted a penalty to complete his brace after succumbing to a challenge in the area from Barr.
However, Nga completed his hat-trick after running onto a through ball from Mogakwe four minutes later to slot into an unguarded net.
It got worse for the Team of Choice in the final 15 minutes when Sibusiso Hlubi saw red for a studs-up challenge on Sizwe Mdlinzo.
Maritzburg were denied a second in the closing minutes when a smart save from Mothwa denied Judas Moseamedi, while Thabiso Lebitso fired wide at the other end as the Chill Boys get the campaign up and running.
The match ended with Eve Nga who scored the first hat trick in the Dstv championship league history
