WE ARE PUSHING OURSELVES- EVA NGA

The Chippa United strikeforce is pushing themselves to start getting more goals in this second half of the season as the team prepares to play Free State Stars in their Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday (3pm kick off).

Striker, Eva Nga Bienvenu, has been in search of goals that will help the team towards progress to the next Cup stages and also towards our league ambitions for this season.

"I am feeling a little disappointed with lack of goals, and this is what we want to work on...as a striker you are always happy to contribute with assists so that is what we are working on," said the burly Cameroonian.

"This weekend we are playing against a Stars team that will come here expecting to win. We are prepared for that and to work hard as hard as we have been doing at training. We want to get victory for the Club.

Eva Nga added: "This is a big Cup here in South Africa. For instance, if we win the competition, the team will play in Africa (CAF Confederation Cup)...something like that, and that experience will be a good challenge for us."

Stars currently campaign in the GladAfrica Championship, but lifted this trophy three years ago while still campaigning in the elite ranks.

Our boys enter the fray on the back of two wins, two draws and two losses from their fixtures - all away- played this year.

As the team gears up for their first home match of 2021- Nga said they were working towards finding consistency under coach Dan Malesela.

"We felt a bit tired with the schedule even though we understand that it was part of parcel of playing professional football. However, I can say that we gained some confidence with how we played and some of the results from our matches," Eva Nga said.

"We are preparing for the Cup match now and we are pushing ourselves and made going to give our best on Sunday."
