Rhulani Manzini could not have asked for a better way to announce his comeback as he scored a stoppage time screamer to help his side complete a double over Baroka FC this current season.
The game was deep in the injury time when Katlego Mashego was fouled from 30 yards.
With the scoreboard at 1-all, it was left to the Bushbucksridge-born striker to conjure up the winner . He did, and it was a beauty ,sending the Chilli Boys faithful supporters and bench alike into delirium.
“With God anything is possible. All glory to Him,” said Manzini speaking to chippautdfc.co.za after the game.
Asked what went through his mind before the strike, Manzini said; “I knew that I have the technique to direct the ball into the net because the power (of God) is already there.
“I had to relax, take my time and apply the right technique, the rest was up to Him,” continued a visibly delighted striker.
Affectionately known at as “Iron Ball” among him teammates, Manzini paid tribute to everybody who supported him during his time out with an injury; “It’s been long five months out without touching the ball, and I am happy to be back and make contribution to the team.
“I thank the Technical Team for showing confidence in me, and my teammates for the support. The Medical Team was fantastic, and so is everyone at the Club including our supporters.
“I also thank my wife and family for being with me through thick and thin. My church also played a huge role.
“We must continue working hard, we still have a lot of tough games ahead. We must remain humble, and keep the focus,” added Manzini.
